Weep not

Milton Demory was a surrogate father to me in many ways and I was saddened to hear of his passing last week. His obituary is available here.

WEEP not, beloved Friends! nor let the air
For me with sighs be troubled. Not from life
Have I been taken; this is genuine life
And this alone--the life which now I live
in peace eternal; where desire and joy
Together move in fellowship without end...
Small cause there is for that fond wish of ours
Long to continue in this world; a world
That keeps not faith, nor yet can point a hope
To good, whereof itself is destitute.

I've been reading your blog in stealth mode for some time, but since you don't allow anonymous comments, I guess I'm compelled to reveal myself in order to express my sympathies. I didn't know Mr. Demory well, but he always seemed like a good man. My condolences to you and the rest of the family. - KL
